Raymond H. Costa Family Scholarship

The Raymond H. Costa Family Scholarship has been established to provide scholarships to employees and the immediate family members of employees of McDonald’s stores managed by Mr. Raymond H. Costa, in order to promote learning and enhance the quality of life for employees and their children. The scholarship provides funding to assist eligible students who wish to obtain undergraduate/postgraduate college education, attend a certificate course, or seek trade skill development.

Latino Generations Scholarships

The Latino Generations Scholarship Fund serves as a sustainable launching platform aimed at helping Latinos succeed and for reducing the disparities across the county. The intent of the Latino Generations Scholarship Program is to provide financial support to high school seniors or college student transfers who will be attending either a two-year college, four-year university, or a certified vocational training institution.

Timothy Conley Baldwin STEM Scholarship

This scholarship, of up to $1,000 and for students excited about STEM, was created in 2005 to honor the late Timothy Conley Baldwin. Tim started visiting San Benito County regularly in 1962 and moved here in 2001. He was a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Tim was employed by UCSF in the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, as well as the Human Resources Department. He was a past member of the Press and Union League Club and was active in volunteer work

Timothy Conley Baldwin Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship, of up to $2,000, was created in 2005 to honor the late Timothy Conley Baldwin. Tim started visiting San Benito County regularly in 1962 and moved here in 2001. He was a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Tim was employed by UCSF in the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, as well as the Human Resources Department. He was a past member of the Press and Union League Club and was active in volunteer work.

HireAHelper Skilled Trade & Technology Scholarships

Growing demand and lack of qualified workers in skilled trades like the moving industry means it’s a great time to go back to school and enter these lucrative and fast-growing industries. To help keep up with demand and assist the next generation of professionals, HireAHelper will award a $2,000 scholarship four times a year to eligible students.

Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture Scholarship

Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce provides scholarships to deserving area youth that have need of financial assistance, are active in supporting the community in which they live and show an eagerness to achieve through knowledge by intending to pursue post-high school course of study at either college/university, trade or another post-
secondary educational institution.

Applicants must live within the boundaries of Pajaro Valley Unified School District, be a graduating high school senior, demonstrate positive-impact involvement in some form of community service, and must be accepted in a trade or post-secondary institutions.

California State University Monterey Bay Scholarships

California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) provides a list of external scholarships and links to their applications and sites. They are awarded by private outside agencies directly to students, CSUMB Financial Aid & Scholarship Office and/or various departments on campus.  

Gavilan College Promise Program

The Gavilan Promise Program is designed to provide first-time college students with access to affordable higher education and to increase college-going and completion rates in our service area. Students must be first-time to college students, California resident or AB 540 status, complete Gavilan CCC Apply application, complete a FAFSA or Dream Act application, complete online orientation, and be enrolled as full-time students. 

Gavilan College Scholarships

The Gavilan Scholarship Program has helped students achieve their educational goals. Gavilan College offers numerous need and merit-based scholarships for part-time and full-time students in most academic majors. These awards are funds for school-related expenses that you do not repay. All continuing Gavilan College students, transfer students, and new students, including graduating high school students, may apply. Applying for scholarships is free.

Montage Health Auxiliary Scholarships

Community Hospital’s Auxiliary awards scholarships every year to junior volunteers and local college students. Junior scholarships are awarded to high school seniors, ready to graduate, with at least 100 volunteer hours. Collegiate Scholarships are awarded to students who are currently enrolled in an academically approved college in a healthcare-related program and a Monterey County resident.

EAH Housing Rebecca W. Watkin Scholarship

The goal of the EAH Housing Rebecca W. Watkin Scholarship Fund is to help see students through their entire college experience. Students must be current residents of an EAH Housing property. Parents or guardians of the applicant must be in good standing with their lease/rental agreement. First-time applicants must have been a high school student in the last year or be a current high school senior, and enroll at an accredited college, university, technical or trade school.

Eden Housing Howard T. Collins Memorial Scholarship

Each year, Eden Housing awards its residents with monetary assistance to meet their academic and career goals. To date, they have awarded 410 scholarships totaling $555,000 including residents at California State Universities Monterey Bay as well as many local community colleges among others.  For more information, contact Eden Housing.

Dwight Brydie Scholarship

Intended for responsible youth who want to make a better life for themselves, demonstrate leadership potential and/or provide positive role models for other youth, show the ability to make good choices, and who desire to improve their skills and abilities to succeed in the workplace. Scholarships are up to $1,000 per person and should be used to offset the costs for tuition, books, fees, transportation costs and other related and relevant training expenses. Applicants for the Dwight Brydie Scholarship Fund must be: 1) Currently participating in a youth employment program 2) In high school and planning on attending college or post-secondary education or training or attending college or post-secondary education or training 3) Between the ages of 16 and 24 and 4) A resident of California.

Women’s Education & Leadership Institute

Hartnell College’s Women’s Education & Leadership Instititue (WELI) was designed by local women leaders to increase the leadership capacity, workforce skills, college enrollment, and college completion rate of socio-economically disadvantaged cis and trans women of the Salinas Valley. The program includes a $1000 scholarship awarded at completion of Leadership Training. An additional $1000 is awarded upon completion of the mentor workshops. To qualify for WELI students must apply in Spring of each year.

Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group Pre-Med Scholarship

The Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) Pre-Medical Scholarship is awarded to deserving local high school students who attend a four-year college and plan to pursue careers as doctors. PAFMG doctors have awarded more than 60 scholarships to local students. Scholarships are a total of $25,000, paid out over five years: four years of an undergraduate university and the first year of medical school.

Men’s Institute for Leadership & Education

Hartnell College’s Men’s Institute for Leadership & Education (MILE) supports its scholars in overcoming the unique challenges that men face inside and outside of the classroom. MILE strives to increase college completion rates among male students in the Salinas Valley and provides a $1000 Scholarship Awarded at completion of Leadership Training. An additional $1000 is be awarded upon completion of the mentor workshops. To qualify for MILE, students must apply in Spring of each year.

CHOMP Medical Staff Outstanding Student Leader Award

Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) offers awards to children or grandchild of members of the medical staff of Community Hospital who meet the following award criteria: 1) Child or grandchild of a member of the medical staff of Community Hospital 2) High school junior or senior or community college student 3) A resident of Monterey County for at least one year and 4) Intent to enroll at a four-year college or university.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation Latinos in Technology Scholarship

Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) offers scholarships for Latino(a) students who have a declared major in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)-related field and are graduates of a high school in Santa Cruz County or enrolled at a college/university in Santa Cruz County. SVCF will give up to 100 Latino students the support they need to graduate from college; an educational opportunity they would not have access to otherwise. Additionally, scholarship recipients will be considered for summer internships with sponsoring corporate investors.

Ocean Mist Farms Academic Scholarship Program

The Ocean Mist Farms Academic Scholarship Program awards a total of six $1,000 academic scholarships each year to deserving students. Two $1,000 scholarships are available exclusively to a dependent of an Ocean Mist Farms Affiliate Company employee.  Students must live in Monterey, Riverside, San Benito or Santa Cruz counties.
